Devils Punchbowl State Natural Area is one the most amazing sites along the middle oregon coast. It’s a big open dome of which you have to see a picture in order to know what’s going on.
The pacific tide is either filling it with water, or leaving it half empty as seen in the picture above. Interesting thing, for sure. But the real fun happens in the beach just beside it. The low tide reveals several so called tidepools, which are completely under water and therefore invisible during high tide. Then, in the very moments before the sun sets, it seems to be a whole new world made out of rocks, waves, and color.
